Ribotto started learning piano at the age of nine within an institute of nuns in Thunder Bay. He picked up the guitar in his teenage years and practiced endlessly through summers spent in the isolation of the family cabin outside of Atikokan.
After moving on from his high school band Disastronauts and the underground rock scene of Thunder Bay, he developed an interest in electronic music on the outskirts of TO while attending art school in Guelph. At the same time he was holding down a corner on the main drag playing the blues for loonies..
This tradition was carried on west through Vancouver and then south to the Venice boardwalk where he continued to play with an open case and living from the luxury of his car. During these times, livelihood and inspiration were maintained by escaping to the depths of the Mojave desert to rearrange his organs trance parties.
He migrated north and eventually ended up employed in the digital music industry. Slowly he built his studio and began releasing tracks online. His involvement in the SF music scene evolved from open stages to collaborating with the Lowpro Lounge and eventually taking flight with the Flying Skulls. He opened up the mainstage of the first Symbiosis Gathering with a four piece band.
A year long hiatus from SF was recently spent in Toronto working from an office at the Universal Music Canada building by day. By night, he was repping Symbiosis at events for CoSM, Tech Safari, Suma (formerly Sumkidz), BLA and the Shakti Collective. When Old Man Winters sunk his frosty claws deep, he was confined to the studio where his cabin fevered production mutated to a whole new level.
Ribotto returned to the Bay Area and continued to tour across America with the Flying Skulls but eventually broke off to focus on his own music , sharing his latest creations from the lab with the dancefloors of the world. Fusing electronic sounds with live instrumentation, his music is driving, funky and melodic with a psychedelic twist. His songs are classically structured with a pop hook sensibility and sharpened with a metal edge. They have been heard worldwide, endorsed by top level producers and licensed by CSI (Miami).
