Many of you may not know this but every year, on the 3rd week
of May, Power Thursdayers worldwide celebrate Power Thursday
Heritage Week. My own personal homage to Power Thursday is
a celebration of it’s roots – Thor’s Day. In the selected image,
Thor, Son of Odin, God of Thunder, is depicted smashing giants
with his mighty hammer. There’s some big time power going on
there.

What is Power Thursday?

For many of us embedded in the rigorously
routine schedule of the 5 day work week,
Thursday has long been the unsung hero of
the weekdays. Overshadowed by
T.G.I.Fridays, Hump Wednesdays, and
peoples general hatred for Mondays and
Tuesdays, Thursdays have maintained this
underdog status for too long. To rebuild
appreciation and awareness of this most
excellent almost-the-end-of-the-weekday,
the Power Thursday high council has
re-instituted the ancient, sacred, and nearly
lost tradition of Power Thursdays. Once
celebrated worldwide across a spectrum of
cultures, Power Thursday has evolved to
embody the final surge of sheer power
needed to push one's spirit through to the
weekend.

Please remember, while harnessing the power of Power Thursday, that with power comes the
responsibility to use it ethically. Not like Godzilla, who obviously went insane? drunk on his own power.

On todays Power Thursday, let us all take a moment to reflect and
respect our ancestors. Without their awesome POWER (much like
the power of Power Thursday,) we never would have survived the
era of dinosaurs and wouldnt have come to build this great
civilization. Ancient ones, we thank you!

While the fantastic powers of modern technology have indeed enabled us to accomplish far more
than our ancestors, let us not become blindly dependant upon it.? Rather, we must maintain our
wits and use the incredible calculative might of our human brains to harness and control this
technology to propel us into a marvelous future.? Or we can lose control of it and face the
consequences such as in the Terminator movies.

It is my pleasure to inform you all that we have finally discovered the answer to that question that?s
been pestering our society for countless generations!! Yes, with the assistance of internet research, we
have at last pulled the veil from the great mystery: what is more powerful than a tyrannosaurus rex?

Let me introduce to you all ---- Robosaurus.

He is 25 feet taller, 44, 000 pounds heavier and actually feeds off the fossilized remains of T-Rexs.?
What?s up now T-REX!?!? I regret to inform you that your tyrannous reign of terror has come to an end.

Id like to take a moment to place a friendly reminder
that although Power Thursday may be fun from time
to time, that does not mean its a joke.

It is no joke at all. Its serious stuff.

Big time.

As you all feel the power surging through your spirits on Power Thursday, please open
yourselves to how this energy is shared between all of us. When successfully focused,
this power can work together as synchronized clockwork, much like in the case of Power
Thursday’s mascot, Voltron.

Todays power Thursday is dedicated to the worlds fattest twins.
What can we learn from these sculpted marvels of the human form?
It’s the power to be yourself. These fella’s aren’t trippin’ on their
body image...they’re just having a blast riding around on those little
mopeds…Look at them go!

I received a very excited email from an undisclosed source this
morning with an attached image of a crop circle formation that
appeared overnight and was discovered today (Power Thursday)
near Wiltshire, SW England. To many this is even more concrete
evidence supporting the theory that we are not the only ones in
this galaxy who take part in this sacred tradition.
The truth is out there…

A formal public apology to the ninja community has been
made for neglecting to give them Power Thursday
acknowledgement. I guess I figured that the Ninja
community had so much Power Thursday street cred, that
their respect in the tradition was implied. I’m sorry Ninja
community, you are a very important part of this sacred
custom. Now please stop pinning threats to my door with
throwing stars.

Power Thursday just aint what it used to be…There once was a time when Power
Thursday meant you would light yourself on fire and go for a jog in an empty parking
lot, but those days are no more. I can’t decide if we’re wimpier or smarter, but there
will always be a soft spot in my heart for a human torch. Power on Scorchy!

Power Thursday Visualization Exercise
Imagine yourself as an F-16 just cruising along through the week. Every day you
accelerate into the weekend. What happens on Thursday, you might ask? Well my
friends, on Thursday your tear through the sound barrier unleashing a sonic boom that
shatters windows and makes dogs poo in fear. That’s right everybody, we are all
cruising towards the weekend at a rate of 761 mph.

A Special Power Thank You:
Next time you see one of your local ghostbusters, why don’t you give them a pat on the back and buy
them a drink. They work hard every day of the week to keep our Power Thursdays free of evil spirits
and gigantic marshmallow men. So next time you bust out the ouija board without reading the
instructions all the way through , please consider the ectoplasm sweep up work our ghoul-busting
buddies endure when you accidentally tear a rift into another dimension.

One of the issues that often comes up with one who has realized and embraced the awesome might
of Power Thursday is a blind sense of reliance on the power. The “Don’t worry…I’ll let Power
Thursday handle this” attitude can be quite dangerous. Please remember that even though the
power is flowing full throttle today, let us not treat it like a playground.

At this point, I’d like to remind you all once again that anything is possible on such a
Power Thursday as this, so please be careful for crazy stuff like dogs driving around in
cars. I’m pretty sure that they wouldn’t be very good at steering and turn signals and
stuff like that without enough practice or proper instruction.

There have been many past attempts at other Pseudospiritual movements for
Thursdays in the work week. For example, the guy on the right tried to start up
GetDrunkAtWork Thursdays…the problem with this as is with the many other
attempts is that it wasn’t a very good idea to begin with.

It is a little known fact that the popular icon most of us know as
the Energizer Bunny is actually inspired by a celebrated
character from ancient Power Thursday folklore – The Power
Thursday Hare. It is said that the Power Thursday Hare would
travel across the land pumping out groovalicious beats that
inspired our ancestors who built this civilization to keep
pushing through until Friday. Can you imagine if he hadn’t
been there and our society was only built on a 4 day work
week? We’d still be in the 1600’s by my calculation. Anyways
it is said that if you close your eyes and listen carefully on
Power Thursdays, you can still hear the Power Thursday Hare’
s crunching groove drifting through the air ducts….

…At this point, I’d like to remind everyone to stay calm and remain brave. We are
deep into the week and Friday is almost upon us. Don’t panic. Don’t freak out. Dig
deep and feel the Power Thursday energy flowing through the universe…flowing
through you. Use this energy for courage and to maintain your willpower. We WILL
make it to Friday.

Often people choose to adopt either a “glass is half full” or a “glass is half empty”
attitude. The great thing about Power Thursday is that the glass is always full (of
power.) So remember- you can be the guy in the red shorts, full of powerful
courageous bravery and standing up against his fears – or you can be the guy in the
black shorts who is about to crush him. Either way you win!
